Bioscrypt’s MV 1200 Finger Scan Module Selected for Clinician Identification at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital
eko system’s Frontiers Perioperative Clinical Information Management System Implemented Throughout the Entire Surgical Care Environment
Toronto, ON (April 5, 2005) - Bioscrypt Inc. (TSX: BYT), a leading provider of identity verification technology, announced today that eko systems' Frontiers™, state-of-the art Perioperative Clinical Information Management System (PCIMS), featuring Bioscrypt’s MV 1200 module for clinician identification, has been installed at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
Frontiers™ is a comprehensive and fully integrated PCIMS solution that meets the complex electronic medical record, compliance management and management reporting needs of all clinicians (nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, perfusionists) and managers throughout the entire Perioperative (surgical) care environment.
Frontiers was deployed at 44 Perioperative points of care including Operating Rooms, Post Anesthesia Recovery Units (PACU), and Endoscopy Suites. Over 50 clinicians including anesthesiologists, nurses, CRNAs and PACU nurses are currently using the system.
"Following an extensive evaluation, eko selected Bioscrypt’s MV 1200 module based on the performance of the verification technology in every day applications and the ease with which we were able to integrate it in to our keyboard," said Warren Guillett, CEO of eko systems, inc. "Frontiers, with its advance user authentication, including the MV 1200 module, continues to rank as one of the leading PCIMS technology solutions available to healthcare organizations seeking to effectively address the data security guidelines and legislative mandates being imposed by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)."
"We are very pleased with the design win that has allowed Bioscrypt to participate in eko system’s progress in deploying their Perioperative Clinical Information Management System " said Robert L. Williams. "As the healthcare market advances, and the requirement for irrefutable audit trails with respect to who is caring for patients becomes defined, we believe demand for biometric technology will increase."
