Niagara Falls Bridge Commission Selects Bioscrypt V-Prox for Biometric Access Control
New Security System to Help Ensure Safe Movement of People and Goods in Both Directions Across Border of United States and Canada
Toronto, ON (July 5, 2005) - Bioscrypt Inc. (TSX: BYT), a leading provider of identity verification technology, today announced the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission (NFBC) has selected Bioscrypt V-Prox biometric access control readers to assist in their function of making sure facilities, such as bridges and plazas, are secure for safe movement of both people and goods. The system will also aid in controlling liability claims.
Areas within the newly constructed, state-of-the-art NFBC headquarters requiring the highest level of security, such as server rooms and telecommunication rooms, have been equipped with Bioscrypt technology. Adding a second component of verification, matching an individual’s fingerprint at the point of entry with information stored on their employee card, provides the multi-factor authentication capability that strengthens access control.
“Strengthening security at border crossings has been the focus of a great deal of attention in recent years and we are proud to be providing a portion of the solution to attain that goal,” stated Robert L. Williams, President and CEO of Bioscrypt Inc. “Authenticating an individual as an employee of a border control or port facility is a significant component to the overall security of these services. Bioscrypt will continue to work with our channel partners to address similar opportunities.”
