Bioscrypt's PIV-Station is a FIPS 201-compliant reader that can help government organizations meet the requirements of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). The directive is a part of U.S. measures to protect government facilities from terrorist attacks by controlling access to buildings and information networks using two ANSI 378 fingerprint templates, a facial image and a smart card to verify the identity of government employees and contractors. The PIV-Station meets the FIPS 201 standards requirements of a physical access reader and it can perform Multi-Factor authentication, including fingerprint biometric and cards, to verify that employees entering federal buildings actually are who they say they are.
